Feeling much better today after 4 days of a bad migraine. Thanks again to Anne for helping me through it.

I have not posted here for a while because I just have not been getting headaches. That changed 4 days ago when one started that was so bad I could not post anything. Thankfully the migraine is done thanks to Anne for nursing me back to health.

November 7

I have not updated the blog lately as I just have not had a headache. That changed yesterday afternoon when I had a bad migraine headache I still do not feel 100%, hopefully it does not come back.

The new month has rung in with no headache, however it is raining which can bring on a migraine. Hopefully it will be a good day.

The All Hallows Eve edition, yesterday afternoon I started getting a migraine and so I left work early. It lasted a few hours but was completely gone by the morning. Today though it has been raining has been pretty good as far the headache goes it has not returned and I hope it stays gone.

No headaches the past few days. Things are looking up. I'm sorry I have not been posting everyday but without the headaches it seems a bit strange and honestly I forget to post. One thing I've noticed this morning is my jaw is tightening on me which can be a before headache sign.

Sorry I have not updated the blog recently, I have been crazy busy lately. The good news is I've not had a headache for some time now. One reason for this is the support of Anne, who will tell me when I am getting a bit out of it. Normally what this means is that I should eat something  when I do I quickly return to my normal self.

No headache today. It was a good but busy day, glad the headache has not returned.

The day started out fine, however soon after lunch I was hit with a very bad headache. It lasted most of the day, but is finally gone now.

No headaches these days. It has been a busy few days but at least my head seems more normal than it ever has.

No headache today. was asked to go into work again though so no long weekend for me, at best I get one day off. Hopefully this will not effect me later.

I was fine almost the entire day but started getting sharp pains in my head this afternoon. It progressed until now I have a serious migraine. All in all I am doing better, though every once in a while the migraines still hit me.

No headaches sorry I did not post yesterday, I meant to when I got home, however had a late night helping a friend. I woke up this morning feeling great. Hoping it will be a good day.

No headache today, it looks like the rain we had yesterday is long gone. Last night coming home I did have a severe sharp pain in my head it only lasted a few minutes, but after that I did not feel right for a while. Good news is I'm feeling fine now.

No headache today, yesterday afternoon was an appointment with the headache doctor, and we both think I am progressing well. So that is a good sign.

Feeling great today, no headache in sight, really doing well these days. I am off my prescription as they wanted me off the medication. Also I have not had to get any injections for some time.

No headache this morning, all in all it was a good weekend and today is Labour Day so I am looking forward to a nice relaxing day off.

No headache today, I am tired though. Went to the CNE yesterday with a friend and spent the day outside. Had a great time, watched some of the airshow, went on a few rides the Polar Express is a classic that must be ridden every time I find myself there. I am seeing a definite pattern here though I am not getting as many headaches, it is nice to be feeling the benefits of all the work my doctor has been doing on them.

No headache today. I will need to get a refill on my pills soon though. Looking forward to a pain free long weekend.

It is 4:00 AM I woke up about a half hour ago and the migraine was worse than when I went to bed. I have taken a shower and now I'm sitting with a heating pad in the dark, I hope this helps.

The thunder woke me this morning, it is raining steadily in my area right now, as a result I have a migraine. I hope that I can deal with it and get it under control soon. I am going to take it as easy as I can today.

It was a busy day today, left the house early to meet up with the family for a round of golf, after that I ended up at the Taste of the Danforth festival. I just made it home, through all of this my head was fine. Tomorrow is another migraine appointment.

No headache today though my shoulders and neck are very tight. Hopefully that will dissipate as the day goes on though I doubt it.

No headache today, but I do feel a bit tired. I thought I slept well last night so I'm not sure what that means.

No headache today, it sounds strange but I'm looking forward to the doctors appointment on Monday.

No headache today, I did make an appointment with the migraine specialist for next Monday due to the headaches from last week. I think I need to continue with the injections at least every 2-4 weeks.

I did not sleep well last night as the headache was still there. I finally got to sleep at about 3 am. Waking up again I've found it was not as bad that is until I smashed my head into the kitchen cabinet. Hopefully it will go away again soon.

Woke up this morning with another headache. I've eaten taken my pills and had a shower, hopefully I can get rid of this one quickly.

Last night I woke up at around 2:00 a.m. with a terrible headache. I took one of my pills and did not get back to sleep until around 4:00 a.m. This was the first headache I've had in quite some time something like 3 weeks.

No headache today. I do have an appointment with the headache clinic on Thursday, while there is no headache today I do feel that I could be on the verge of one, neck is stiff so I am hoping that it works its way out during the day.

No headache today and no sharp pains last night. I do think I need to make an appointment with the headache clinic to talk about those sharp pains.

Last night I had a few sharp pains in the side of my head, this seems to be a new pattern for me. I'm not sure if this is good or not, I will have to ask my doctor about it. They went away as quickly as they came though which I hope is good.

The short sharp pains I had yesterday amounted to nothing. Even though my head does not hurt I am still experiencing stiffness in my neck and shoulders. I hope to focus on that next.

I woke up this morning with the smallest twinge of a headache and my neck feeling stiff. Last night I had a few sudden pains that went as quickly as they arrived. Hopefully this will not become a bad day.

No headache today, they seem to be easily managed now with the prescription I take daily.

No headache today, this is becoming my new normal tomorrow will be 3 weeks I think since I've had to have injections for my migraines, at this point I am managing the migraines with my prescription.

That feeling from yesterday did turn into a low grade migraine, it's still with me but it is not as bad as some I've had lately.

No headache yet, though this morning feels like one could be on the horizon. I am starting to feel as though I live my life between migraines. Hopefully this will amount to nothing.

I have had a nagging migraine that will not go away completely for the past few days. I have an appointment this afternoon with my migraine doctor hopefully the nerve block injections will do something for me as the prescription has not worked thus far.

It is 2:30 in the morning a very bad headache has woken me up for the 2nd time tonight. I have tried most everything I know to get rid of it but this one is persistent. I am not sure how I will fare tomorrow as this seems to be here for the long haul. Perhaps I can get an emergency nerve block done.

No headache yesterday or today though they are calling for rain most of today so that might change things. I must remember to take my Indomethacin today as I forgot about it yesterday. It must be taken with food which is part of the problem.

No headache yesterday, today I went to the migraine doctor to get the weekly injections for the nerve block so as always after these visits my head is frozen. Here is a photo shortly after.

It is raining in Toronto this morning, and rather steadily at that. That explains why my head feels like it does. I have taken something for it and hopefully that will help. It looks like a perfect day to stay inside.

Friday was a busy day at work and by the time I got home it was late. We had a late dinner and I went to bed. Upon waking this Saturday morning I find I can feel the beginning of a headache, it seems like this could be a bad one so I am endeavoring to take measures now to deal with it.

I went to the headache doctor today for more injections. My head is frozen now and the doctor suggests that I might not need my appointment next week, though I will keep the appointment just in case.

June 10-12

No headaches the past few days though I can feel one coming on tonight. Tomorrow I have another appointment with the migraine specialist for more nerve block injections.

No headache on the 8th, it was a busy day, not sure what today will bring.

June 7

Yesterday was my appointment with the migraine doctor. He said he had never seen my shoulders so bad and my heart was racing. I did not notice any of this as I was in the midst of a headache. When I was asked where my pain was from 1 to 10 I responded 6 or 7. I know I've had worse headaches in the past. We did nerve block injections and that helped very much. Waking up this morning I do not have a headache hopefully it will stay that way for the rest of the day.

June 5-6

Yesterday was an uneventful day as headaches go. This morning I awoke to the that feeling that my head was made of rock and overcast skies. I have an appointment later today with the migraine specialist so hopefully that will take care of it.

No headache today it was a good day.

No headache today, the weather has taken a turn to cold again, not sure how it effects the barometric pressure but I have not felt any change.

No headache today, just want to get back to my new normal. I think last week was just a fluke due to the weather.

May 31-June 1

Friday I went into work and the headache I had seemed to get better as the day went on. I am up this morning (Saturday) and it seems much better but still lingering. I really do think it has a lot to do with the weather we have been having up here over the past few days as it causes a rise in the barometric pressure.

May 30

The headache is still here this morning but more manageable. I tried maxalt last night, my migraine doctor had given me some and told me to take one a day. It helped however it did not completely get rid of the headache.

May 28 and 29

Yesterday was the 28th just before leaving work I started getting a bad migraine, I think it had to do with the weather which was rainy and overcast the entire day. Today I woke up and I still have the headache it seems like a step back in some ways though I was told that this would most likely happen. I do hope that these episodes are few and far between.

May 27 continued

So I went to my appointment and the doctor thinks we may need only one more nerve block. He was also saying he would give me my prescription for a 6 month period.It looks like a light at the end of the tunnel sure hope it's not a train.

We had a busy weekend with Doors Open Toronto, and now I find I've got a headache. Today is another appointment with the migraine specialist, hopefully that coupled with some painkillers will help.

I had the start of a headache last night, I took something for it and went to bed early. This morning I find it is gone, hopefully it will be a good day.

I thought I might get a headache today as it was overcast in the morning. Even though it did eventually rain I did not get a headache so I am happy about that.

It rained last night, so hopefully the pressure will change. I did not sleep well last night and was at the beginning of a headache for part of yesterday, it did not amount to anything though.

Happy Victoria Day! I started today with no signs of a headache, the weather is calling for rain at some point though it does not look like it now. Hopefully if there is a shift in the barometric pressure it will not effect me as it has been a good few days and I would like that pattern to continue.

One of the things I've noticed after a few car accidents is that I can get dizzy spells if I look up or get up too fast. These can also be warning signs that headache is coming on. I had some this morning when I went to get up, now it is possible that I simply tried getting out of bed too fast, but I will keep an eye on things today as a result.

I am looking forward to a relaxing long weekend hopefully there will be no headaches at all. So far so good.

No headache, I was given a number of stretches to do during the day as a means to alleviate stiffness and tension. Hopefully this will add some long term relief on top of the prescriptions and nerve blocks.

Today is my birthday and for a present I get to go have more needles in the head, oh joy. My appointment is this afternoon. I need to talk to the doctor about my prescription as well as he thinks I should be on an as needed basis, but that does not seem to be working with me.

May 12

Had a bad headache yesterday afternoon and evening. Went to bed very early and now it seems to be gone. I think the idea that I can stop the prescription completely is not quite right, though I do think that cutting them back is a good idea. I have another appointment on Monday and will bring these disturbing developments to the attention of my doctor.

May 11 continued

I was out for a bit this afternoon and did not eat lunch until late, as such I have another headache. I decided to stay in tonight and went to sleep. I just woke up and feel a bit better but it is still there. Hopefully it goes away soon.

May 10-11

On Friday I started getting a headache. I think it had to do with the weather we have had, it has been overcast and rainy. I left work an hour or so early as a result and went to bed early. This morning I woke up and I still have it though it is not as bad.

May 7-9

No headaches at all, it has been going so well that my appointment with the migraine clinic for today has been put off until next week. I hope this is the new normal.

No headache today taking the indomethacin on an as needed basis seems to be working thus far.

No headache today, I went to a meeting this morning and another this afternoon, have not eaten as well as I should but no headache and I did finally eat so hopefully it will be a good night.

May 3-4

I did not get a chance to update the blog after my appointment so thought I'd do so now. My doctor is very pleased with the progress and wants to stretch out the nerve block injections to two week intervals, as well he has changed the frequency of my pill taking from two a day to an as needed basis. All in all things are looking up.

May 2

Had my appointment today, it seems I'm getting better, we are talking about more time between visits and my doctor is very happy with my progress.

With the rain coming through last night I ended up with a headache. It did not last long but it was there. This morning it is gone. I hope it stays away.

Had my appointment yesterday at the Migraine Clinic. I feel fine this morning, I had several injections and my head was frozen for about 8-9 hours. Today it is back to work.

Today is another appointment at the Migraine and Pain Clinic, the headache from yesterday is gone so I think it may have been weather related more than anything else.

This could be the closest thing to a headache I've had in 2 weeks or so. I have been stressed out by some things out of my control and drama surrounding me and thus I can feel a headache coming on. I am trying to keep calm but this is a learning experience for me so I'm not great at it yet.

No headache today, hopefully this is a continuing trend. I feel good and just want it to continue. It should be a slow day at work so may leave early not sure.

No headache today as yet, my next appointment with the migraine and pain clinic is Thursday. Today should be an interesting day at work.

No headache yet today. I am still getting over this cold but feel much better this morning. Hopefully I'll have a completely headache free day today.

Woke up this morning with no headache, I had a good night last night as well but I am a bit tired, looking forward to a busy day.

Woke up this morning with no headache, it kind of surprises me as we are getting a cold front coming through later today, and I have a bit of a cold, normally I would have a very bad headache but not today. I guess the indomethacin is doing the job.

April 18

Yesterday I filled my prescription for Indomethacin the dosage has changed I am down to 25mg a pill now from 50mg. I will continue on these until I am done with 2 more refills, then we will assess where we are at. Woke up this morning with no headache.

Woke up this morning with no headache. I have to pick up my prescription today. Something strange happened yesterday afternoon I ended up with sharp pains in both sides of my head but mostly on the left side. The pains left as soon as they appeared and did not turn into anything significant.

Woke up today with no headache, I will need to refill my prescription today but that is fine. I don't want to get used to this but I am really enjoying it while it lasts.

April 15 continued

I thought I would update you on my day. I had a number of injections today 4 in the head and several in my shoulders. I feel a bit out of it still as these injections do take it out of me.

No headache today, I am going to an appointment at the Migraine and Pain Clinic later on probably more injections today.

April 14

No headache again today, it should be an interesting day as it is the last day of the conference at the Royal York hotel. I am hoping the headache stays away.

Had a late night last at the ORC (Ontario Regional Conference) but I feel wonderful, no sign of a headache. Hopefully I wont overdo it this weekend.

I went to bed early last night and the nerve blocks were still in effect when I went to sleep so they must have lasted for about 7 hours. I feel fine this morning and have a very busy weekend ahead. I also have another appointment with the Migraine and Pain Clinic on Monday for more nerve blocking injections.

April 11 continued

I got home from the migraine and pain clinic. I had 8 injections this afternoon, 4 in my head 2 in the front and 2 in the back, and 4 in my right shoulder. I need to work toward trying to loosen up a bit, yoga and physio therapy.

Even though there is a major storm here and I have been dealing with the stress of designing for a committee I do not have a headache. I have an appointment this afternoon with the Migraine and Pain Clinic.

Woke up this morning feeling good, no headache again, I have to refill my prescription today and tomorrow I have another appointment at the Migraine and pain clinic.

I woke up this morning with no headache this is interesting as there was a storm that went through last night normally a thunderstorm such as this would cause a headache. Hopefully it will stay away.

Woke up today with no headache again, I could get used to this. I think the preventive is doing it's job. I have another appointment on Thursday of this week.

Woke up this morning feeling good, I think the preventive is working. It looks like a storm is coming in but thus far no effects from it. My pattern with barometric pressure is that it does not matter whether it is before or after the storm, changes in barometric pressure can give me a headache.

Waking up this morning I find the headache is gone. I will keep an eye out for any signs that it is making a return, however I feel fine at the moment.

April 5 continued

The headache I had yesterday came back again, long enough to ruin my day. It seems to be gone again, after I ate dinner took some Motrin and my preventative. I do hope this is over with for now.

Headache is gone this morning but I am dealing with the aftermath of the headache and I feel a bit tired. Hopefully I can get over this one soon.

Another day another headache. I hope this one is over soon, it woke me up early. A shower has helped a bit and I will take some pills shortly. I have also had breakfast which helped as well.

I now have a prescription for Indomethacin a preventative though I still do not have a prescription to control any pain. I will continue to use over the counter remedies for now.

The headache from yesterday seems to be gone, hopefully it will stay gone. I need to fill the prescription I was given yesterday. My next appointment with the headache clinic is on the 11th for more nerve block injections.

April 1 continued

So I am home from the migraine and pain clinic. I've got a headache, not sure why every time I go there I have a headache, at any rate, I was given two nerve block injections in my forehead. It helped the pain in the front, however did nothing for the pain in the back of my head. The nerve block feels strange my forehead in numb. I am going to watch to see how this nerve block effects me. I have another appointment on April 11 and again on the 15th.

Today is my appointment with the migraine and pain clinic. I feel ok this morning but I am a bit tired. At any rate hopefully this will be a productive appointment.

March 31

I ended up leaving a meeting last night because of a headache, it is gone now after a good nights sleep. Tomorrow is another appointment with the migraine and pain clinic, hopefully it will help.I think today I may just take it easy, I've done the Easter dinner with the family and met all the obligations for this weekend so that may just be my best course of action, or in-action today.

I got a better nights sleep last night and feel good this morning. It should be a busy day as I have a few things to do. Hopefully it will be a good day.

I can not sleep in no matter what, I did not get a good night sleep and yet here I am awake since 6:30 with no hope of getting back to sleep. Hopefully it does not translate into another headache which it can.

Headache seems to be truly gone for now, though I can feel my jaw tightening as I sit here writing this. I hope it amounts to nothing and may just be because I just woke up. In other news Monday is another appointment with the migraine and pain clinic. Hopefully that will shed more light on these headaches.

I did not have a headache yesterday and waking up this morning I find I have no headache now. I hope this is the start of a trend. It should be an interesting day at work being a short week, and I am hopefully going out tonight.

I did not sleep well last night hopefully that does not translate into another headache. On the good side of things, the headache I had for the past few days has left.

The headache I've had for the last few days seems to be better this morning but I may just be hoping. I will keep my eye on it, hopefully it will not come back.

Last night I stayed in as my head was really bad. I fell asleep early but had a late phone call which woke me up. I got to sleep again and slept almost 8 hours. I feel a bit better now but there is still a trace of this headache. I hope it just fades away but I fear it may just come back worse which has been the pattern of late. I seem to be living with a low grade headache all the time that gets worse at least once a day.

Had a headache last night again, I think it's mostly gone now but I am a bit tired. Hopefully I will be alright today.

I was woken up this morning at 3 am with a pretty bad headache. I've taken something and had a hot shower but it has not helped yet. This could be a bad day.

March 21

I ended up getting a headache last night so did not go out anywhere. Again the only thing that really helped was to get some sleep. Waking up this morning I find I am still tired and my head still hurts a little. Hopefully this is just remnants of what I've been going through for the last couple of days.

So last night I ended up with a headache, a shower some pain medication and sleep have helped much. I am hoping that I can make it through the day without a return of this headache.

Feeling alright this morning but my neck is stiff. One thing I have noticed about doing this blog is that it has forced me to be more aware of the subtle things that proceed a migraine.
On the weekend I was doing a bit of shopping for my nieces birthday, I  went into the Body Shop but the scents in the store quickly overpowered me and I had to leave, what bothered me is that one of the sales staff was trying to keep me in the store, I finally just had to leave.

March 18

Had a bit of a headache today at work, it's not that bad however I think it might be coming on due to a bad storm that has hit today. Hopefully it will be manageable tonight.

Feeling a bit groggy this morning. Hopefully I can make it through the day without this becoming a headache. I have my niece's birthday party today and would like to be able to go to it.

I can feel something developing in the back of my neck, and I also feel that my jaw is tight. Hopefully I can do something to stop it from becoming a migraine.

No headache today as yet, looking forward to the day. The weather looks like it will turn nasty in the next few days so I hope everything will work out. Weather can really play a big role in my migraines.

Again yesterday I ended up with a small headache, this time it was on the way home from work. It did not last long and I got a good nights sleep so feeling alright now but again I'll watch for it's return today.

March 12

So yesterday around noon I started getting a headache. I always carry some painkillers so I was able to deal with it before it got really bad. I also stopped what I was doing and ate. Waking up this morning I feel alright but of course I will be ready if it decides to come back, though I do think it was due to the weather as there was a storm in town yesterday.

March 11

No headache today but I am a bit tired, dealing with Daylight Savings Time. It is also supposed to rain later today, which could bring on a headache. Hopefully it will be alright.

March 10

Woke up this morning feeling great no sign of a headache, I may try to get up to the gym today I'm not sure but I don't want to overdo it so I'll see how I feel later on.

March 9

Waking up this morning I find I do not have a headache but what I do have is the tell tale signs of an impending headache. Not sure where this is coming from though, but I will try to deal with it before it gets too bad, taking a hot shower and a couple of motrin might chase it away.

March 8

Had a headache last night but was able to deal with it. I was asked to come into work early and I find I'm feeling alright but again will have to watch myself closely today.

March 7 continued

I left work early today as I started getting a headache around noon. I ate lunch and took some Motrin but it has not left. I was hoping to get to the gym today but with this flair up I just came home. I have been going to the gym over the last few days, I skipped last night after work to go down to my AA home group so I don't think this is about overdoing it, I am not sure what brought it on today. At any rate I will try to rest.

March 7

Went out to a meeting last night, I was feeling alright though by the end of the night I was starting to get a headache. I got home and took something for it and it seems to be gone now. Hopefully it will be a good day.

March 6

Tired this morning, hopefully I will be alright today, though I still find myself grinding my teeth at the strangest times. Again the weather seems to be alright it is warming up so hopefully that helps.

March 5

Well no headache today as yet. I am thinking about going out tonight. It was not a super busy day at work and there is no storm on the horizon so I think I'll be ok for the next few days barring any unforeseen circumstances.

Did not sleep well last night but waking up this morning I find I don't have a headache. Hopefully it will be a good day.

Went out to my meeting last night, I came home late and got some sleep. Waking up this morning I find I am tired however I do not have a headache. I have noticed that I can feel my jaw tightening still and am trying things to control that. I am going out today to meet up with someone and would again like to make it to the gym at some point.

Went out last night to a meeting stayed out after with friends. Of course I woke up as early as usual and now I am tired. I need to eat breakfast and head up to the gym then tonight it is my home group I hope it is a good day. So far no headache hopefully it stays that way.

I started getting a headache last night though I think I got it in time as it did not last long. I feel fine this morning if a bit tired. I don't think the weather will be a factor today as there is no system coming our way at the moment.

February 28

I had a busy night last night but once I came home I got a good nights sleep and seem to be feeling alright this morning, if a wee bit tired. No sign of a headache this morning which is nice though with weather like we are having you never know what could happen.

February 26

I woke up this morning with no sign of a headache, though I still feel as if I am dealing with the aftermath of the headache I had on the weekend. Last night I was finding that I was very stuffed up, not that I am getting a cold I simply think it has to do with a sinus headache. I went by Shoppers Drug Mart yesterday after work and picked up some more motrin as I had run out the other day it is always a good idea for me to have pain killers on hand.

February 25

Waking up this morning I find the headache that plagued me all day yesterday has gone. I hope it is gone for good though I do hear there is a low pressure system coming in tomorrow. I did end up taking the last of the pills that I had here at home, I did not feel good enough to go out and get more so I am glad it is gone for now, I will pick up more pills today of course.

February 24

Yesterday I got another headache, it was pretty bad for a while and I could not keep awake, I kept passing out on the couch. I woke up this morning and it is still here, though the pain is not severe. I think this one is due to a pressure change so I am not sure what can be done about it as any pills I've taken just don't work.

I went out last night and ended up with a major migraine. When I got home I took some Motrin, some Butterbur, had a shower and went to bed. Waking up this morning I find it's gone, however now I am dealing with after headache syndrome. Hopefully it will simply go away.

Woke up early this morning no headache but it is becoming a stressful day. I hope it does not all add up to a headache later. I was tired last night so I was in bed rather early, thus up early I guess.

no headache yesterday or today so far, though I have found that I am clenching my jaw at some strange times. I have to keep that in mind hopefully it will help to rectify it if I try to keep it in mind.

Feb 20

No headache last night or this morning hopefully this will continue. One thing I noticed when I woke up is that my jaw seems to want to tighten up so I am still trying to concentrate on keeping my jaw loose.

February 19

Yesterday I went out to my parents for Family Day, when I was there I started getting a headache, it finally started going away after a while and when I got home I went to bed almost right away. I feel better now and hope I can go through today without a headache.

February 18

Last night I ended up with a bit of a headache, I was going to go out but decided not to as I was worried it would get worse. It did get worse as the night went on so I am glad I spent the evening at home. The good news is that it is gone now, after a good nights sleep and some motrin. I have a family day dinner to go to so I hope it says gone.

Woke up this morning feeling alright, I am going to be very busy today doing laundry and shopping, I also hope to make a meeting at some point. Last night I was out at my home group, I may have to switch groups as the lighting in the hall is so harsh that at this point I seem to be getting a headache almost every time I go into the room.

February 16

Last night I went out to an open mike night. It was a great time, I recited Tam O'Shanter and went out afterward with the bunch. I was out pretty late but I feel fine this morning, if still slightly tired.  Looking forward to the rest of the day.

February 15

Walking up this morning I find I have a small headache coming on. I checked the weather and yes there is a system coming in, hopefully I can make it through the day and get rid of what there is now. My jaw hurts I must have been grinding during the night as well, that is another problem I am trying to work on with varying degrees of success. I had planned on going out tonight but will wait to see how I feel later.

February 14

After work last night I felt a bit out of it. I ended up going to bed pretty early at 10:00 and slept like a rock. I feel much better now. Whatever it was it did not turn into a headache.

February 13

So last night I came home from work last night and my apartment smelled heavily of paint. They were painting one unit below me and one beside me. I decided to go out, so went to see a movie. I kept one window open and that seems to have helped dissipate the smell. 

February 12

Last night I had a bit of a headache but not that bad, I was able to get rid of it pretty quickly. What bothers me is that this seems to be a bit of a pattern lately where I am getting pains that come and go, it is hard to deal with as I never know when it's going to start or how long it will last.

February 11

Yesterday I was dealing with pain that would come and go for most of the day. It did go away for a while, however by the time I went to bed the pain was back. I was able to get to sleep and waking up this morning my head feels fine.

Woke up this morning with the feeling of an oncoming headache. I've eaten and trying to stay hydrated hopefully things will get better I need to take a hot shower and take some motrin that might help.

February 9

I woke up early this morning showing no signs of a headache after the big storm went through. A lot of times when dealing with barometric pressure a headache can come on either before or after a weather event like this, so it is nice to see there is no headache right now, but again I can feel my jaw tightening and my neck stiff, hopefully it does not turn into another headache.

Well it was supposed to be a big storm, here in Toronto it's not as bad as first thought. However the pressure change may have effected me. We will see how the day goes.

February 7

Yesterday afternoon I felt as if I was starting to get a headache, it stayed just on the verge of becoming a headache for the rest of the day. I woke up this morning with all the tell tale signs, my neck is stiff, my jaw wants to clench and my head feels like it is made out of rock. One other thing, of course we are getting a large storm coming this way. One of the biggest triggers out there is a change in barometric pressure.

February 6

No headache yet today, I am going into work so I'll try to keep myself from getting too stressed out. I slept well when I did get to sleep, and find that this is a big part of maintenance. I am also trying not to drink tea any longer, as tea has caffeine so I think herbal tea is the way to go.

February 5

I woke up this morning feeling alright, the one thing that has me a bit stressed out is that I lost my wallet yesterday, I hope it is at work as I know I had it with me yesterday. I am supposed to call in to see about work today so that is also a bit of a stress, though I new that this would happen from time to time going in.

Late yesterday afternoon I started getting a headache, I took something for it and it went away quickly enough. I hope it stays away for the rest of the day.

Woke up this morning with no headache I got a good nights sleep so that might have had something to do with it. Hopefully this will be a good day.

Today I went out to speak at a meeting, afterward I have found myself getting a bit of a headache so I came home and had some lunch and have taken some motrin. I hope all of this helps as I don`t want to deal with this all day.

Woke up this morning feeling great, I might go out tonight depending on what the day brings. On Saturday I am speaking at a meeting so hopefully this trend will continue.

January 31

Did not sleep too well last night, I hope today is good but I am tired, no headache thus far. I am hopeful that there will be no headache today. The weather has turned again which might be a factor, so I will concentrate on the things I can control. Looking forward to a quiet night after work.

I went to sleep last night concerned about my jaw, it has been really difficult for me to loosen up. I woke up this morning and it seems fine but my right shoulder is very tight today. Hopefully it does not develop into another migraine.

I got some sleep last night but maybe not as much as I would have liked. I can feel my jaw tightening on me no matter what I try to keep it relaxed. My neck is the same, while I do not have a headache it is close to a headache, hopefully I can get this under control before it develops into a migraine.

So yesterday the headache came back, but is gone now. I hope I an have another week like last week where I was almost headache free. I find I an feel my jaw trying to tighten up even now and I am trying to keep it relaxed. It should be a fairly stressful day at work so I hope I can come out of today without a migraine.

Last night was my 20 year AA medallion, it was a great night. Afterward a friend and I went out for a tea by the way it was camomile so no caffeine. I started getting a headache, I came home and took some motrin, and it went away but I did take until about 2 AM.

Last night I had to go down to my twin brothers work to drive him home. He had fallen and hit his head. On the trip down I could feel my jaw tightening, I think this is simply how I deal with stress. Unfortunately, even though he was not seriously hurt I have found I have had a very hard time de-stressing. It has not turned into a headache yet but can I feel my shoulders, neck and jaw are very tight. I hope I can get myself calmed down soon.

Last night I went out to a Burns night it was a wonderful evening meeting new friends and celebrating the Bard. I felt wonderful, the headache has not returned since Monday night. I have found that the suggestions from the migraine and pain clinic really have helped. I have also found that meditation focusing on loosening the muscles in my neck and shoulders really works. I am just hopeful that this is the first week of many that are headache free.

Jan 24

Today is the third day without a migraine. I have been taking the suggestions given me at the Migraine and Pain Clinic. It does seem to be helping. Today also marks my 20 years sober date. I am really glad that so far I have not had a migraine in the past few days. I did find yesterday that someone's perfume at work effected me a bit but I was able to control it with Motrin. Later on some florescent lighting did the same however I was able to control this one with my sunglasses.

I woke up this morning again with no headache. It really is wonderful to have 2 days without a headache. I have taken my doctors suggestions and some of them seem to have immediate effect. Hopefully this will continue for a while, I still have to get myself back to the gym, as it has been very difficult for me to exercise with  the headaches I've been dealing with. I find posture is important, of course when you have a headache your posture changes but keeping good posture when you can helps prevent the onset of a headache. I also have found that I am very aware of my shoulders, when I am getting a headache they seem to tighten up which makes the problem worse so keeping aware of this is important.

Ok so I did not sleep that well I woke up at about 3:00 AM and was up for a couple of hours. I got back to sleep just before 5 and slept until 7. This should be an interesting day. The headache I had yesterday is gone. I hope it stays that way.

Jan 21 Migraine and Pain Clinic visit

So lots to think about after the appointment with the migraine and pain clinic. My headache is worse after all the manipulation of my neck and head. It is almost as bad as the day they took me into the hospital by ambulance. I was told quite a few interesting things, the doctor told me that he has not seen a neck as bad as mine in 5 years, he suggested several things after going over my history. I will embark on a change in my eating habits he suggested 6 smaller meals a day instead of 3 larger meals. I am going to try to get back to the gym more regularly. I was pretty regular at the however with all these headaches I have not been able to make it. Hopefully I will be able to get into physio as well and I am going to also pursue massage and some other things that were suggested. He said at some point we could do a series of nerve blocks starting with my neck if needed. I was also told about botox as a treatment. More to come as I continue down this road.

So today is my appointment at The Migraine and Pain Clinic. Hopefully this will help determine what is happening.  I have however developed a theory that doctors do not really know what to do about migraine headaches. I hope the specialists can help, I will of course update the blog when it is over.

I have not slept very well at all, in fact when I woke up after getting a little sleep, the headache was worse than when I went to bed. I have taken something for it and am on the couch now, sitting up feels better than lying down at the moment.

Jan 19-20

So the headache came back late last night, and now I'm dealing with it. I have taken a shower and all that but not sure if this is about the weather changing. It rained here and I think that might be it this time. I am so looking forward to the Migraine and Pain Clinic appointment on Monday, hopefully I can get to sleep tonight.

I am awake no sign of a headache at the moment my neck is still a bit stiff. Yesterday I went to pick up the orange lens glasses I ordered from ebay, they were up at the post office. I tried them out as soon as I got home and I have found they seem to help relax my eyes after about 15 minutes or so of wear. The Headache Clinic called me yesterday to confirm my appointment on Monday.

So I left work early yesterday I came home took some Motrin and had something to eat. I had a hot shower and got to sleep. Woke up this morning after sleeping well and it seems to be gone again, I can only hope it will stay this way. I am looking forward to my appointment at the Headache and Pain Clinic on Mon Jan 21 at 2pm.

Last night I was going out to a meeting, and the migraine came back and it came back big. I have been dealing with it all night. It is getting a bit better now and I hope this means that this one is over or will be soon.

So last night I did not sleep well or really at all, I had a stiffness in my neck and back of head. This could be the beginning of a headache. Time will tell, I guess but it should be an interesting day.

No sign of a headache today, hopefully this is the start of a trend. I ordered some orange lens glasses a little while and and hope they are here soon, as I have done some research on these.

Woke up this morning with a little stiffness in my neck, hopefully it will not develop into a headache. I have a meeting to chair tonight and it would be nice to not have to deal with a headache. I will keep you all updated on my progress as the day goes by.

Yesterday I ended up getting a headache again, it lasted until I went to bed. I just woke up I slept in a wee bit and no sign of a headache. It is raining here again today so I think I will try to just take it easy today and not worry about anything else.

OK Woke up this morning feeling alright, seems to be a headache free day so far. Yesterday the headache stuck around all day I ended up wearing sunglasses at work as there are lots of flourecest lights. Hopefully this day will continue headache free, I will keep you informed.

So yesterday I was feeling more myself at lunch time. After work I started feeling like a bit of a headache coming on so took some Motrin. It seemed to work, however waking up this morning I find I have a bit of a headache coming on or already here. I do think this is a different headache than the one that made me start this blog. I will keep you all up to date.

Last night I went out to a meeting, as I was feeling alright. What started effecting me however was the florescent lights in the hall where the meeting was. I did wear my sunglasses. I have been hearing about orange lenses for sunglasses helping and ordered a pair from ebay, hopefully they will help in those situations I have also heard about photochromatic sunglasses and wonder if they would help. I will try to ask my doctor about that when I go in.

Steady improvement

So I took this photo yesterday at work during my lunch, you really have to love technology, anyway I post it here to show my progress. While I am not at 100% I do feel much better, and think that
this event will just require some time to recover from. I am not using any product in my hair as I find that, at times, gel will give me a headache. It sounds strange but it has happened in the past.

Back to work

I think today I will try to go into work. I feel quite a bit better after taking the day yesterday to rest, of course if it gets too much for me I will come home. Catherine suggested last night that I may be suffering from post concussion syndrome, I seem to have all the earmarks of this syndrome. I will let you all know what happens.

The start of a new week

Well it is Monday morning, I was thinking about going back into work today, but I find I am very tired. My family and friends keep telling me just how bad I look when the pain hits, which it still does from time to time. I am the type of person that normally wakes up before the alarm goes off, this morning I was so tired that it was the alarm that woke me and I stayed in bed after I shut off the alarm, very uncharacteristic of me.

If I do go in it will most likely be a half day as I think that is about all I can handle at this point. I just want to get back to normal but I am finding that overdoing it does not help at all. Yesterday I was at my parents house for my Dad's birthday, he looked at the back of my head and found the bump I have been talking about, the one none of the doctors paid any attention to. That bump has been scabbing up so I must have bumped my head at some point in the recent past I just can not remember what or where. I also have a bruised arm from all the IV's that I was given last week.  

Keep the messages coming

Today started out with no pain, however the longer I am up the worse it gets. One thing that strikes me is the messages from all over the world wishing me well. Thank you all for that, please keep the messages coming.

Not out of the woods yet

But I can see a clearing. One of the strange things about me is that no matter what is happening I have an internal clock that simply will not allow me to sleep past 7:00 and most of the time I wake much earlier than that. Thus was the case this morning when I woke up around 6:00. I noticed right away that I could feel a slight pain in the back of my head, where all this trouble started in the first place.

I went out last night and felt fine just a slight twinge here and there, my real concern is that this is, for lack of a better term, a brain injury or event. I had a cat scan the other day and it showed everything normal except for the fact that the ventricles in my head are larger than they should be, I am not sure what that means however I plan on doing some research on it, hopefully I can find out if it means anything or not.

I want to thank everyone who has left encouraging messages, my friends and family for your incredible support throughout this ordeal. I know this is not over with yet and I will of course keep you all up to date. My hope is that these wee twinges are the final gasp of this event. Again thank you all for your support and help throughout this I will keep you informed as things progress.

I got a good nights sleep, and think for now at any rate that this headache is gone. Thank you all for your concern I will of course keep you up to date on any changes.

I just got home, I spent half a day at work and that was enough for me. I was starting to feel pretty bad again. I started to shake uncontrollably at work and so left, not sure what that was about but it has stopped now.

Another day another hospital

I am home from the hospital again, I was taken by ambulance this morning. Just to back it up a bit I could not sleep or even lie down last night, every time I went to lie down it just hurt worse. Worse than any migraine I have ever had in my life. So I was taken in my ambulance. To make a long story short I was given morphine, and had a Cat Scan, the cat scan showed nothing abnormal. With all that said I still have the migraine though it has settled a bit, I am afraid that once the morphine wears off completely that it will just come back. I was also given a prescription for T3's. What worries me is that none of this has fixed the problem.

Update

Ok so I thought I would update you guys on whats been going on. I ended up going to Mount Sinai Hospital on New Years Eve. I was given the same IV I got from Branson on the weekend but then they gave me a steroid I am not sure of the name, and 2 Percocet. It worked for a time, however now it is back. I am headed to another doctor tomorrow as I really need to find out what is happening here. This is not a normal migraine for me. The photo is from Mount Sinai as I was getting an IV.
